Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about running an affiliate program with Increlon.

About Increlon Affiliate

What is Increlon Affiliate?

Increlon Affiliate is a Shopify app that lets you run your own affiliate and referral program directly from your store. You recruit partners and customers to promote your products, track the sales they drive, and pay them commission — all without leaving Shopify or writing any code.

Who is it for?

Any Shopify merchant who wants to grow through word-of-mouth: brands recruiting influencers and content creators, stores turning happy customers into referrers, and businesses running structured partner or ambassador programs. It works for a handful of affiliates or thousands.

How is this different from just handing out discount codes?

Discount codes alone can't tell you who actually drove a sale, can't hold and approve commission before you pay, and can't give each partner their own dashboard. Increlon attributes every order to the right affiliate, manages the full commission lifecycle (pending → approved → paid), and gives affiliates a self-serve portal with their own links, stats, and payouts.

Do I need to install anything on my theme or write code?

No. Increlon installs like any Shopify app and runs from your admin. The signup form and affiliate portal are served on your own store domain — you add them to your navigation without editing theme code.

Getting started

How long does it take to set up?

Most stores are accepting affiliate applications within a few minutes. A short setup checklist walks you through publishing your signup link, adding the affiliate portal to your storefront, and setting your first commission rate.

Are there video tutorials I can watch?

Yes. We have a library of short explainer videos — most under a minute — that walk through recruiting affiliates, creating offers, tracking sales, and paying partners, all inside Shopify. Watch them at https://increlon.com/videos.

Do my affiliates need a separate account or login?

No. Affiliates sign up through your storefront and access their portal using their Shopify customer account. There is nothing for them to install or register elsewhere — the portal lives on your own store domain.

Can I invite affiliates directly instead of waiting for applications?

Yes. You can add affiliates manually one at a time, or upload a CSV to invite a whole list in bulk. Invited affiliates receive a portal-access email and can start sharing as soon as they're approved.

Can I migrate from another affiliate app?

Yes. You can bulk-import your existing affiliates by CSV and set their commission rates, so you keep your partners when you switch.

Recruiting affiliates

How do affiliates join my program?

You publish a signup form on your store. Applicants submit their details, you approve or reject them, and approved affiliates immediately get access to their portal and share links. You can also invite people directly without a public form.

Can I organise affiliates into groups or tiers?

Yes. You can group affiliates and give each group its own commission rate, hold window, and payout methods. Every member inherits the group's settings automatically, and you can override any individual affiliate when a partner needs different terms.

Can I approve affiliates before they can earn?

Yes. Applications are held for your review — you approve the affiliates you want and reject the rest. You can also suspend an affiliate later without deleting their history.

Commissions

How do I set commission rates?

You can set a default rate for each affiliate, a per-campaign rate for specific products or collections, and a shared rate for a whole group. The most specific rule wins, so a campaign rate overrides the affiliate's default.

Can I set different commission rates for different products?

Yes. Campaigns let you target a specific product or collection and set a dedicated rate for it. Affiliates earn the campaign rate on matching sales and their default rate on everything else.

Can I hold commission before paying it out?

Yes. A commission hold window keeps new commissions pending for a period you choose (for example, until your return window closes) before they become eligible for payout — so you're not paying out on orders that might be refunded.

What happens to a commission if an order is refunded?

If an order is refunded or cancelled, the commission attached to it is reversed automatically, so you never pay affiliates for sales that didn't stick.

What is lifetime commission attribution?

Optionally, once an affiliate refers a customer, you can keep crediting that affiliate for the customer's future orders for a period you define — rewarding partners who bring you long-term customers, not just one-off sales.

Tracking and attribution

How does referral tracking work?

Each affiliate gets share links and their own coupon codes. When a shopper buys through a link or code, the order is attributed to that affiliate and the commission is calculated automatically — tracked reliably at checkout.

If a shopper clicks more than one affiliate's link, who gets the sale?

The most recent one. Attribution is last-touch — the affiliate whose link the shopper clicked most recently before buying earns the commission, so a later click takes over from an earlier one. The one exception is coupons: if the shopper applies an affiliate's coupon code at checkout, that coupon's affiliate is credited.

Can affiliates share links to specific products or collections?

Yes. Affiliates can generate a share link for any product or collection from their portal, so they can promote exactly what's relevant to their audience.

Where can I see which affiliate drove a sale?

Every attributed order is listed with the affiliate who earned it, the commission, and its status — so you always know where your sales are coming from.

Payouts

What payout methods are supported?

Increlon supports PayPal, Wise, Venmo, Cash App, and store credit, plus a manual option for any other method you use. Affiliates can choose their preferred method in their portal.

Can affiliates choose how they get paid?

Yes. Each affiliate sets their preferred payout method and destination in their portal, and you can restrict which methods your program offers.

Can payouts run automatically?

Yes. You can schedule automatic payouts so eligible commissions are paid on a regular cadence, or pay affiliates on demand — individually or many at once.

How fast can affiliates be paid?

With supported express methods, approved commissions can be sent to affiliates quickly rather than waiting for a manual payout run.

Campaigns and offers

Can I give affiliates coupon codes that also discount the customer's order?

Yes. A campaign can pair an affiliate's tracking with a customer-facing discount, so the shopper gets a deal and the affiliate still gets credited for the sale.

Can I limit a campaign to a specific product or collection?

Yes. Campaigns can target a single product or a whole collection, so an affiliate only earns the campaign rate when the sale matches.

Can I set an expiry date or a redemption limit on an offer?

Yes. Campaigns can have an end date and usage limits, so promotions run only as long — and as far — as you want.

Turning customers into affiliates

What is the customer advocacy program?

Customer advocacy turns your existing customers into referrers. After a purchase, a customer can be invited to join your program and start earning by referring friends — no application needed.

How does the post-purchase widget work?

The widget appears on your Shopify thank-you page and lets a customer join your program in one tap, right after they buy — the moment they're most excited about your product.

Emails and branding

Can I brand the signup form and affiliate portal?

Yes. You can add your logo and match your store's colours so the signup form and portal look like a natural part of your brand.

Can I use my own email provider?

Yes. Increlon works with your own email delivery — SMTP, SendGrid, Postmark, Resend, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or Gmail — so affiliate emails come from your domain. You can also customise the emails the app sends.

Plans, pricing and billing

Are there any upfront or monthly fees?

No. Increlon Affiliate has no upfront fees, no setup fees, and no fixed monthly subscription to get started — you can launch and run your entire affiliate program on the free plan. The paid tier is truly pay-as-you-go: you're only charged based on the results the app actually drives for you, not a flat monthly bill you pay whether or not it performs. Everything is billed through your regular Shopify invoice, so there's no separate payment setup, no long-term contract, and you can change or cancel your plan at any time.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. You can start on a free plan and upgrade as your program grows. See the Pricing section for what each plan includes.

How does billing work?

Billing runs through Shopify, so any charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice — there's no separate payment setup. You can change or cancel your plan at any time.

How many affiliates can I have?

Your plan sets the limits on program size and volume. Higher plans raise or remove those limits — see Pricing for the details, and you can upgrade whenever you outgrow your current plan.

Does it work with Shopify's built-in discount system?

Yes. Increlon works alongside Shopify's native discounts and uses Shopify's own discount and checkout mechanics for affiliate coupons, so everything stays consistent at checkout.

Data and support

Who owns the data in my program?

You do. Your affiliates, orders, and commission records belong to your store, and the program runs inside your Shopify account.

How do I get help?

Support is available in-app and by email. You'll also find setup guidance and a full help centre once the app is installed.
